Understanding dizziness to help changing your patients' lives (3hrs)

Dizziness is a vague term of a collection of symptoms which cause untold distress to many of our patients. It may not be their initial primary complaint when presenting to you, but after completing this course you will very well placed to help them understand their condition and offer help to improve or resolve it. You will also have a deeper understanding of the early symptoms of serious neurological conditions presenting as dizziness - such as Vertebral Artery Dissection. Recognising these could not only ensure early referral and better outcomes for your patients, but also that you don't end up treating where you shouldn't have. This course is presented by our neurological diplomate Jake Cooke, who specialises in these conditions and spends his days helping people with dizziness. He has distilled all this great clinical knowledge into a 3 hour course for the practicing manual clinician who is uniquely placed to help where many patients have been left to fend for themselves

Jake Cooke

Hi, I am Jake Cooke I graduated from AECC in 2009 and have since, through my interest in neurology and its clinical applications, become one of the few British chiropractors to pass the American Chiropractic Neurology Board exams. Following on from that, I have just completed my Masters in MSK neuroscience with a focus on chronic pain and dizziness. I have taught in various settings including for the BCA, RCC, and ECU on assessing movement, balance, posture and pain using a neurological approach. My goal continues to be to show how neurology can be easily learnt, understood and used in daily practice with every patient, not just the special cases. The Learning Collective is the ideal opportunity for me to do this.
